This is the truest secret of them all - what no NLP peddlar would want you to know: NLP is not a true science. Sure, parts of it are - and those are the parts I use and explain on this website.

NLP was developed in the 70s by two men, Bandler and Grinder. Since the inception of NLP, it has evolved and grown many new limbs, so to speak. The problem is, a lot of these limbs were invented by people who didn't truly understand NLP. There are a lot of "NLP" techniques out there that simply have no scientific or even psychological basis.

Of course, there are a lot of perfectly good techniques going under the NLP banner as well. Those are the ones that I discuss on this website. You may wonder why there are fewer "techniques" on this website than some other NLP websites. And I welcome this challenge, because the reason is simple.

If a technique has no scientific basis, or no noticible effect better than that of a placebo or psychosomatics, then we are not interested.

That is my guideline at NLP-secrets.com. I hope you agree that it's best :)

  • Sorry, I disagree. If an NLP technique has placebo effects, who cares? as long as it's working ! Only the results matter.

  • @alkistisTV what I'm trying to convey is that if the only results are by placebo, then there is no real value in the technique itself. For instance, I could tell people that wearing a top-hat will make them feel healthier. If they believe it and that belief results in placebic feeling of health, then that is good for them.

However if I recommend a technique that does not rely on placebo nor psychosomatics, then it will work regardless of belief. That makes the technique itself valid. Sensible?

  • Great video! Thanks for presenting NLP in such a clear light. I had no idea there were such nonsense techniques being created. It's good to know there are people like you lighting the way for more genuine exploration of self improvement topics.

  • Informative video

  • Truly interesting insight into NLP. One can really respect the intellectual honesty in your rhetoric.
