This is my rendition of Henry Mancini's *Baby Elephant Walk* arranged for fingerstyle guitar. I'm in standard tuning but down a half step. There's a short intro to the song, so if you're in a hurry to get to *Baby Elephant Walk* move your cursor to 1:02.

You can buy my new CD at many retailers both online and in traditional outlets. Here's one online retailer:

Mp3 singles can also be purchased for all of my songs at places like iTunes. Here's the iTunes link:

  • Hello. I LOVE your guitar work! I hope to play like that one day, no doubt. I'm just wondering. I have bought a taylor 214CE recently but I can't find a way to record it via somekind of line-in to my computer. Since I have just bought the guitar I don't have enough money for high-budget solutions. Do you have some advise for me?

    Cheers from the Netherlands

  • @Jasperguitar I used a pair of small diaphram condenser mics on this one. They were both Oktava MK012 mics. MXL makes some knockoffs for around a hundred bucks each that aren't bad, but if you can find a used Oktava on Ebay, I'd go with that,. You really only need one. That and a cheap little $80 Behringer or Yamaha mixer with phantom power is all your need. I just used a little Behringer on this recording. If you need to go straight to the board, I'd get the Fishman Aura for that pickup.

  • Great!! Watch out Doyle!! I love the intro - I presume that's yours? Is that a 600 series?

  • @Byrdmanguitar,

    Hi Joe,

I was just watching you perform Nuages, and that was terrific. I did a DJango cover a few months ago, but it didn't come out anywhere near as nice as yours, so it's still sitting on my hard drive.

I've just got a 314. It's all I can afford, but I like it as well as many of the 914s I've played. You have to look a bit harder to find a really good 314, but they're out there.

  • tab info?

  • To the upper right where it says "more info".

I don't write stuff down though if you're talking about tablature.

  • WoW that is impressive..i had to post it to my facebook wall , Amazing.

  • Great arrangement, wonderful playing. Bravo!

  • Really terrific. Loose and playful, but not overly goofyball, like so many versions of this tune.

  • wow - absolutely great!

  • It's great
