The video card is broken, incorrect drivers, a malfunctioning card due to years of use, or stressing it by putting graphics settings on that it cannot handle.. and the list goes on.

i dont think there is anything wrong whit ur video card. try to put more GHz to ur CPU in BIOS menu try that that usually helps

i got the same problem, its just that vista sucks hell... you get alot of problems with vista and atikmdag. its just as if ati and vista cantwork together :S

LOL At Smash in the BKGND.
My HD2600 give me the ATIKMDAG error when I try to play HD-DVD or Blu-ray movies. it sucks that you can't even get Vista to be stable at all.

Yeah i am not sure what was wrong with my card, maybe it was the early drivers..since final build of Vista was just released when i made this video

I have the same problem. I own the 9550 and Vista crashes after 15 minutes of use, now I have to use Safe mode to do simple things.
Any fix to this?

As sad as it sounds, I would just got back to Windows XP because theres something obviously wrong with the 9550 ati drivers and Vista..because I got a Nvidia 7600 and it fixed the problem..but I would recommend if you went back to XP, I just formated yesterday and went back to XP...good luck ;)
