In it GMG chief exec Carolyn McCall refers to The Observer newspaper - the world's oldest Sunday paper - being protected 'in perpetuity'. Now (2009) she is refusing to rule out closing it and making massive job cuts after a string of bad GMG management decisions cost the company millions... (McCall paid herself £500k last year, Alan Rusbridger £445k).
