Thanks for replying, I have no one around to consult with on cuatro and I really appreciate your help.
I find it's quite difficult with this set-up to fret the strings properly. By the way is cuatro overall more difficult to fret than a normal acoustic guitar and it requires developing more strength and precision in fingers?
When I fret cuatro I get buzzes here and there unless I fret really hard. Should it be like this at first or should I try to sand the saddle to bring the action down?

Esto es un cuatro hecho en China y no afina correctamente. Por eso lo vendi y me compre un cuatro hecho en PR de palo guaraguao.
A cuatro is a 12 stringed washburn then?

@Emceetem NO. It's an imitation of a cuatro . This Washburn cuatro was built in China. A real cuatro is Puerto Rican made and hand crafted with 10 strings. The wood quality is much higher and sounds better than the ones made that one.
12-stringued guitar sound similar though.

@sotonemuel
i have a 12 string and does it make a difference?
Emceetem 1 year ago
@Emceetem Don't know why you ask does it make it difference but it is tuned differently...so that makes it different.

Hello! Do you speak English?
What make of the cuatro do you paly there? It looks just like mine by Oscar Schmidt.
In which case did you find that the string spacing between string pairs is a little too wide at the saddle on this one compared to a cuatro that would follow original build specifications?
I looked closely at cuatro pics of cuatros built in Puerto Rico and I noticed the double strings were almost parallel all length from the nut down to the saddle.
Keep up good playing!

Yes! That is an Oscar Shmidt by Washburn. Yes, the spacing is way off. I actually sold this cuatro and bought a used custom built Guaraguao wood cuatro which is other videos. Buy the real thing. Trust me, you will notice a great difference and your playability will be greater. Thanks for watching!
