In fond memory of Paul Dosier. Part 1 of a documentary filmed back in the spring of 1992. This movie takes a deep and personal look into the musician who would later be nicknamed "The Tubanator". Paul was an extraordinary musician who touched so many people in so many ways.
I was just informed of Paul's passing. I hung around Paul a lot back in his PCC days. Partied at his house in San Marino actually a few times. What a GREAT guy--and very sad to hear of his passing. He couldn't possibly have been older then me...argh. Another remind of my mortality. RIP Paul...

I met Paul playing in a concert band in Pasadena. I had the opportunity to help him move from CA to Boston, a wild four day drive! I always looked forward to our next meeting, sometimes a year or more in between. I wonderful person, a talented musician.
Paul, you left us too soon.

Paul played bass in an early 80s rock band with my wife and me, but he really wanted to be playing the parts on his tuba. Great musician, and as genuine and sincere a person as you will ever meet, with one heck of a quirky sense of humor. Lost touch with him, but always hoped to track him down. My favorite Paul quote: (after a really sour note) "Did you notice how I went atonal there? That was intentional. What did you think?" Paul, I think youll be missed.

Paul was so much fun to hang with! The awful puns never stopped. Silly sense of humor. A really great guy and oh, by the way, a great tuba player! He never talked about his health situation, but he just kept grinning and playing. The worst thing I can say about him is that he NEVER answered anyones phone messages, depriving us of his great company. I'm sure he must have had reason. I'd begun to suspect his health kept him out of circulation. Anyway what a GREAT video of a great friend! Thanks!
