Time-lapse photo showing the work done by one of the freight trains on my Vasona Branch model railroad.

This job, the San Jose Cannery turn, runs in the early morning to switch the canneries before the first shift starts. It first starts by switching Del Monte's Plant 51, their San Jose dried fruit packing plant, then switches the (off-camera) Del Monte Plant #3, the huge cannery west of downtown.

It's a busy job for the model railroad crew because of the large industries and interfering trains coming through on the main line.

The Vasona Branch is a small (11x14 foot) HO model railroad which reproduces scenes along the former San Jose - Santa Cruz branch in the early 1930's.
