This is my Austin A99 Westminster which I used for the National Rally. There was another A99 also on the rally as shown in one of the other videos. Both of these A99's are the only ones known to still be on the road in New Zealand.

  • Had one of these in the early '70's . 3 on the Tree +Free Wheeling Overdrive. Thirsty engine, but gas was 39 cents/ imp gallon then. Would cruise nicely at 80 MPH in Overdrive.

Hi there, thanks for the comment, yes they do cruise nicely, overdrive really helps fuel consumption even if it isn't the best! Cheers

  • Hi, it uses the BMC six cylinder 2912cc rated engine. Thanks for the compliment.

    Cheers!

  • What a brilliant colour, THE correct colour for this period. My father owned one of these around 1961/62, I have a feeling that the A99 took the 2639 ccm3 C-Series from the predecessor A90 (90 bhp SAE), the A110 (with the same Farina bodywork) then used the bigger 2912 ccm3 shared with the "Big Healey".

  • What engine does the A99 use?

    Great looking restoration!
