@pistachioguy He wanted to play with his band, but he had to get money, so he took a job offer as an extra in some shoots. It didn't quite work out with the band, despite his work on the set was giving him bigger roles, so he went with acting. From what i've heard in interviews; it still sounds like he has a big heart for bands.

When writing songs, you HAVE to write what people can relate to NOT whatever words just come to mind. That's why SOME bands make it, and SOME bands don't. It's like as if someone wrote a song "I got a girl and she's so great! YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!" Who GIVES a shit? Compared to "THIS is what MY girl means to me!" EVERYONE can relate to that NOT, the other way around. SUCCESS.......or NOSE DIVE? Maybe that's why Nicholas Cage rescued his carrier?

he became an actor, not by mistake, but he didn't make it by his free will, at first.
but after awhile, he liked it, and just started playing for real :).
i dont really remember it all, but i've seen the interviews, here on youtube :).
