Excellent documentary. I've been looking for something like this for the last few days and I'm so glad I came across yours. Professionally done with real examples, this is great :)

Funny all of the thing you say at 1:40 doesn't apply to lady gaga lol NONE OF THAT DESCRIBED HER.
And yeah we know kesha can't sing

Isn't mainstream music generally meant for dancing? You'll notice that most of the top 40 songs are either people that can legit sing, or songs you can dance too, and it's not like producers or people with real talent don't get recognized. It's just the majority of people care more about something they can flow to rather than a well sung song about having a bad day.
You can't really say the industry is selling out when really they're just supplying the world with music it wants to hear. Music is supposed to be an expression of self, and maybe the self just wants to dance to some nice beats?

I agree. Theres a reason top 40 music is .. well.. top 40 music, and its the main kind of music I listen to haha! My point is that we should be aware about where the true talent lies and what goes into the creation of the artists that we look up to, not that top 40 music is bad. Sucks that my documentary didnt deliver that point strongly enough :(

As in... we shouldn't think that all the artists we are obsessed with are incredibly skilled musicians (some are, but some aren't). Problem is that its a pretty touchy topic lol, theres a lot of grey area !
