the result of the surgery really depends on persons eye. for some its really a simple and easy proceidure, for some it is harder and more painful afterwards. but the result is all the same :)

@Perroquet51 - I hope to do a "last one" when my vision is stable or GREAT! I will be a few weeks. And it won't be a vlog, as how many times can one say... "getting clearer."

I would really like an update on this in a couple of weeks. No one I've talked to has been very clear on the immediate after effects and has tended to play them down.

@lloydbarker - just so you know, all this is ON SCHEDULE... PRK just takes time... What's a few weeks of discomfort for years of freedom?

@sabrinowsky - good luck with it if you choose to do so.

I had Lasik 6 years ago. About a month or so after surgery, I began to experience severe double vision. This turned out to be a result of overly dry eyes, believed to be a quirk of having been born w/ blocked tear ducts. 2 weeks of constant natural tears took care of things very well. I still see halos & light streaks, but I knew going in that the vision effected by my astigmatisms would not improve. Although Lasik was more a luxury than necessity, & my vision isn't perfect, I don't regret it.

@SeekerKC - thanks for that... we'll see what happens with me LITERALLY. It keeps getting better.

@TomKiesche It sucks for you to be going through this over the holidays. I didn't mention how frightened I was when I was going through that double vision phase, but I remember imagining the worst, & worried about having possibly made a terrible, terrible mistake. It was not a fun time...at all. Follow the aftercare instructions, esp. re: keeping your eyes moisturized (!), & shifting your gaze often to focal points at varied distances. Hang in there! Wishing you the best!

@SeekerKC - mostly hazy or blurry issues. I would need low prescription glasses if it doesn't keep improving, but so far, i'm trusting it will as MOST say it will up to 3 months.
