  • My mind is all a jumble, I can't think what to write I'm just so gob-smacked! I've turned into a buffoon! Brilliant acting, and he's just so damn fucking hot!

  • I am of the opinion that this movie represented the very pinnacle of his hotness.

Not that he was not hot before or after, or is not hot now, mind you.

  • I saw him do 'Touch of the Poet' at the young Vic with Vanessa Redgrave. It was theatre in the round and at one point I was as close to him as I am to the PC now. He was much much better looking int eh flesh and the voice is spellbinding. I can never understand why he didn't get the sort of breaks that Anthony Hopkins did

  • Timothy Dalton is literally the only human being in the universe who is still this hot at 65.

  • He Is. Just. Too. Beautiful.

  • @PR8047 AMEN! and Hallelujah!

  • *knock knock* "Stay out!" lol

  • owhh, he is such a beast haha :)

thank you for the post :D

  • My personal theory is that, besides being too good looking and imposing for some roles, he somehow ended up in movies that could have been good but were poorly scripted and directed, so his talent shone but was basically wasted - see Hawks, Possessed, Timeshare...

  • His appearance on the last Tennant Dr WHO was very timely. But why had Dalton not got a Shakespeare gig recently?

  • I never understood it either. I happen to love Anthony Hopkins (who I'm watching right now in Dracula) but T. Dalton had everything needed to be a major movie star. Gorgeous AND can act. I think sometimes it's all just dumb luck. But maybe he was just too perfect looking?

  • I think it's because he's too good-looking. Most, if not all of the Great Actors (Alec Guinness, Anthony Hopkins, Ian Holm etc.) are neither handsome nor ugly, neither tall nor short, but have a kind of non-aspect that helps the public to identify them with the character, whereas in Dalton's case (or the late Charlton Heston's), one never gets past their very presence.

Beauty helps actors of average talent (like Brad Pitt), but in Dalton's case it has turned out to be something of an obstacle.
