There's actually this kind of Japanese sugar candy that I found in Wal-mart that are shaped like star bits. Might be just a coincidence due to the fact the candy is tiny, made of sugar, and tastes like rock candy instead of being made of honey.

you actually can destroy the rocks without a star and it gives you a lot of star bits all you have to do is spin and hit the red part it's pretty hard
