I haven't got any NPCs yet, I have made a house of stone with 2 chairs, a table, several torches and a wall. Now, I made dirt walls, but in this video the wall is of stone, does that make a difference? And do NPC houses require a furnace as well? Please help me out.

@hauk93 Umm i know that furnaces are not needed for npcs, however im not sure if the building material matters. Do you have a door (Npc's cant share doors)? also is it a minimum height and width (respectively) of 5 blocks high by 7 blocks wide?

@redtail0202 the minimum size of the room is 50 tiles on the inside, so 10x5. other than that, you need a table, chair, at least one light source, and a wood, brick, or stone backwall. npcs follow the standard special spawn rule. 50 tiles. corruption monsters spawn if there is 50 tile sof ebonstone around, and meteor heads spawn with at least 50 meteorite ore around.

They need a chair, a table, door and light to move in.

@hauk93 You have to put a wall other than dirt walls dirt walls wont work you only need 1 chair and a table and 1 torch or any light source npcs only need the following.

1.5x7 room

2.Table

3.Chair

4.Light source

5.Door(npcs dont share doors)

6.Backwall(except dirt)

then an npc will spawn in the room after some time and if the requirments are met. also the guide moves into the first available house
