recording from the Sean Nos Nua documentary

We were homeward bound one night on the deep
Swinging in my hammock I fell asleep
I dreamed a dream and I thought it true
Concerning Franklin and his gallant crew

With 100 seamen he sailed away
To the frozen ocean in the month of May
To seek a passage around the pole
Where all poor sailors do sometimes go.

Through cruel hardships they vainly strove
Their ships on mountains of ice was drove
Only the Eskimo with his skin canoe
Was the only one that ever came through

In Baffin's Bay where the whale fish blow
The fate of Franklin no man may know
The fate of Franklin no tongue can tell
And Lord Franklin among his seamen do dwell

And now my burden it gives me pain
For my Lord Franklin I'd sail the main
Ten thousand pounds I would freely give
To know Lord Franklin, and where he is.

  • Sinead is awesome!

  • ...none of them can sing so sweet, my singing bird, as you...

    definately her best album

  • its a nice music..i liek it

  • I'm so sad she's ruining this divine voice. I'am afraid this gift is lost forever and that's too bad for all of us, I mean, I really think her voice is (was?) a gift to mankind...

  • Please, Sinead ... have another cigarette. Please ... keep taking great care of your God-given gift. Keep treating your world-class larynx like a garbage can. Please, Sinead, keep smoking. Smoke six cigs at a time, please? We like to hear talent covered in tar. Oh, please. Keep it up. Cover your vocal cords in smoke, Sinead, because smoke sounds so pretty. It really adds to your tone and quality, all that filth. Please, holy Sinead, keep murdering your gift.

  • Divine artist ... angel voice ... love you Sinead xxx

  • Beautifull piece! Thanks for uploading! The only thing I don't really like is that she smokes! Too bad! Does anyone know if she stopped?

  • I so agree with you. A freakin' masterpiece.

  • Love almost all of her music, but this album is by far her best. Incredible to my ears.

  • I love this whole album! Her voice is great (as usual). =) <3 Sinéad
