    It really does take a while to pick up, and definitely does take time to make sense, but by the end of season 1 things really do come together and the show is almost completely perfect from season 2 onward. It shows real problems with the system (police, political and criminal, even educational) but doesn't offer any easy solutions, and keeps a wide variety of interesting, well acted characters who you want to succeed with their tough situations...and they definitely won't always succeed.

    The writing is actually extremely good. This trailer is interesting to me, however only, because I know the context of many of these lines. It doesn't really explain what the show's about, though I couldn't even do it justice. The show is just so damn good, but does start slow. But it's more than just a cops vs drug dealers, good vs bad, lawbreakers will pay cop show, way more than that. It's also got some interesting characters and fantastic acting, and is extremely realistic. Give it a shot!
