  • Hi sir i have some questions and i hope you could help, first the idolomantis need

25-35C of heat and humidity how could i make the exact humidity i asked some plant professionals they told me to make some soil and plantes inside the terrarium is that can give the humidity that idolo needs??

and about aeration is that necessarily for an idolo how support heat 35 degree ???

  • @canaress @canaress hi, first of all i´m a girl ;D i kept these idolomantis about 2 years ago, all of them became adult, but didn´t mate. So I don´t have them any more.

The aeration is the most important thing, humidity just when they molt. You can keep the humidity higher when you have plants in there, wet soil and spray water once/twice a day. But don´t keep them in a glass tank, they need more air. Heat by lamps, what else? Actually i had the cage in a very warm room, 27°C my reptile room ^^

  • that looks like L7 to L8?

Mine moulted from L7 to L8 last night, can't wait for it to hit adult.

how many do you keep ?

  • I´m not sure, I didn´t cout the moults.

I think they are subadult now, I´m looking forward to the next moult. Love this species, they are really worth the money they cost.

    I keep 9 Idolomantis, I think they are 3.6

Would be perfect for breeding them.

  • :) well done!! Im impressed! I hate watching them when they are trying to get there legs out. Its the worst bit isnt it? lol where they fall, if they fall! :) good job

  • last question they said that idolo males are not always interested in females even if the male is adult and in good health.

can you tell me about mating and how they do that if you have some experience.

  • Hello sir i have some question that troubles my mind about idolomatis.

First of all how many time you give it to eat some says ones a week some ones each 3 days and i confused what is best for the idolomantis?

Second question is they said when you let the idolomantis live together and all with all the life spay of the idolo decrease they said that the idolo eat to much to grow fast being affraid of being eaten by other idolomantis.

  • it definetly looks like L7 to L8, going by the size of the wingbuds at least anyway.

I only have my L8 and L4 right now , might buy a few more or try orchids
