My girlfriend made a cross stitch picture of the loading screen of Platoon, a Commodore 64 game. It took several months for her to finish it. She took pictures as the work progressed so I decided to make an animation of it.

The first part of this video shows the picture becoming visible almost exactly like in the game.

The music on the background is the loading music of the same game.

-------------------------------------

Tyttöystäväni teki ristipistotyön Platoonin (Commodore 64 -peli) latausruudusta. Aikaa siihen meni jokunen kuukausi. Hän otti työstä kuvia, joten ajattelin tehdä siitä jonkinmoisen animaation.

Videon alussa kuva tulee esille lähes täysin samalla tavoin, kuin pelissäkin.

Taustamusiikki on saman pelin latausmusiikki.

  • Awesome! Did you do this yourself Airola?

I plan on doing some c64 perler bead stuff in the future.

  • @djsmithy I would do things like this if I had the patience for it :D My girlfriend has done some Bubble Bobble and Mega Man cross stitch things too, but this is by far the biggest work she's made. It took a lot of time.

Perler bead artworks are cool. People have done quite a lot of Nintendo stuff but I haven't seen much C64 perler bead stuff so I wholeheartedly give thumbs up for that project! I hope you'll take some pictures or videos of them and upload on Youtube! :)

  • Ooops, just read the description! Cool!

  • HyväHywä !!!

  • @Petrooli Its the music from the c64 version of the game I think

  • Sä oot hienolla tavalla yhdistänyt perinteisen käsityökulttuurin ja digitaalisen pelikulttuurin. Mä todellakin tiedän pari opettajaa, jotka olisivat ihan innoissaan tästä.:-)

  • Vau! Digitaalisen kulttuurin oppiaineväki ja opiskelijat taatusti pitäisivät tästä jos näkisivät...hieno! :)
