Shawn Lane....genius...pure and simple!!!!!
-
He could sightread but not very well. He learned by ear and memorized in general.
-
Could Shawn read music and transcribe it to the guitar in a way a sight reader could?
-
He feels the Bach, the joy inherent in the major passages. Incredible talent.
-
Amazing and wonderful!! RIP Shawn Lane, i just know you now and i won't forget you....

Thanks so much for posting this. You just know that somewhere in heaven, Shawn Lane and Bach are hanging out. (And playing air-hockey.) (No, that was Bach and Hendrix. Anyway.) But just thanks, man. For those of us who never had the privilege of hearing him live, your Lane videos have let us know what we missed out on.

Shawn was a huge fan of Bach, and had a lot of it in his head. Shawn played some of the Goldberg variations a number of times live. Shawn and Jonas were planning on recording an album of Bach's Goldberg variations. Shame they never got that recorded and released.
