@vcp430: a fiddle dances and a violon sings. If you want to get up dance and stomp it s a fiddle. But you are right it is the same instrument.
Luv this version of the Orange Blossom Special. These people are violin virtuosos on this one but I do want to clap and stomp so they are fiddle masters too.

@mckeNZ321 Violin is in classical, fiddle is for country and bluegrass. No real difference.

@mckeNZ321 They are the same instrument, the styles of music that each one plays are completely different. You can play both fiddle songs and violin songs on the same instrument so if you are interested in learning fiddle I suggest trying it.
