@starbearer76 I agree with your comment. We also pack flat screens not on the stand because the weight of the monitor can break the stand as it is being shipped. PC's never get laid down either, they are very week on their sides, it could cave in from other items being packed in the carton.
to be honest... i think the tower should be standing right side up in the box. the logic board/logic board sits up against the sides of the tower. it is MORE susceptible to vibration damage due to accidentally dropping it, or it falls over in the truck when it rests on its side. the mother/logic boards are less susceptible when the tower sits vertically causing most of the vibrations to be adsorbed by feet or bottom of the computer, and not so much the most vital parts.
