Music was edited on Vortex tracker II. Rest of the stuff was custom made.
3 first SCC-channels are used to enrich PSG voices. Last two channels are used to play what I think you mean when you say "samples". (Real samples can not be used on songs that run on backround without extra hardware.)
The speech effect is simply made by playing a note and changeing the voice 10 times / sec. So this is more like speech synthesizer based on normal SCC voices. Very light solution, good for games :-)
