Not Your Mother's Classical with PROJECT Trio: Part 1

This is the first installment of the WFSU-TV (Tallahassee) documentary "Not Your Mother's Classical." Here we meet Project Trio, a dynamic trio featuring cello, bass, and flute and using a style that blends classical, hip hop, jazz, and world music. They came down to Tallahassee to play with the Tallahassee Youth Orchestra, and during their time they went into schools to inspire young musicians to improvise, compose, and to just remember that music is fun. As you will see, many of these musicians had their eyes opened to new possibilities.

Spectacular. This is really what so many kids need. Something they can take and be passionate about and make their own. So many kids never get that opportunity, or are not encouraged to be creative.

I wish my school could hear you guys... The only ones serious about music are the jazz ensemble, but the problem is that the school underappreciates how great the music can be. No one wants to improve, and the rest of the school isn't too impressed by the professionals who have come by.
