"Hideaway" 1988 Clarion, PA. Recorded at The Red Stallion (aka The Roost). I had the pleasure of directing this live to tape performance as as student for Clarion University's TV station. Joe is a great song writer/musician and still one of my favorites. Learn more about this great American rocker at JoeGrushecky.ca

Here are a few notes about this song from Grushecky's website:
"Fred Goodman wrote"Hideaway" Ellen Foley, who was the female vocalist on "Bat Out Of Hell" also recorded it. She was dating Mick Jones from the Clash during this time period. Ellen also sang back ground for us on Junior's Bar. Our record company presented us with this song. I turned down 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot" during the same time period!!!"

  • Yeah man the Decade...we must know each other. I have this album, and some others. Love to go back.

  • Wow, haven't heard this song in over 25 years - sounds better than ever! Brings back memories of rockin' at the Decade!

  • Forgot to mention Kendrew's Lounge. DVE was rockin' back then. What a time, what a place.

  • The Decade, Mancini's, Morrey's Speakeasy, Stanley Theater, Wild Cherry, Granati Brothers, what a time and place that was = Pittsburgh in the 1980s.

  • Saw them at the Cleveland Agora back in the 80's brings back a lot of memories Thanks !

  • "Dems a Picksburg a band right up dare wit Donnie Iris". Very cool, reminds me of when WDVE was great. Miss the B.E.Taylor,Houserockers,Iris & Norm Nardini days.

  • Back in the early 80's I saw them open up for the J. Giles Band at the Stanley Theatre. My first girlfriend and I called our make-out spot on a back road "The Hide-a-Way" after this song. Thanks for posting! Brings back great memories!
