  • @ElectricPhish Thanks for your positive feedback. The animation was created by Modelworks. I don't actually know what rendering software they used but we have found this company to be very good. They also produced the Metro North animation for us.

  • @RPALuasMetro, do you have the Luas Information Video which was shown in 1996 in the Square Shopping Centre??

  • @dublinbusdude Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. Unfortunately, after chasing down several leads with RPA members and ex-members, we have been unable to locate a copy of the Luas Information Video from 1996. We will continue to in our search to find it. When we do we will post it to this YouTube Channel. If you come across it yourself, please do let us know. Thanks a Million, RPA.

  • It would be a great idea but we don't have the money to be wasting on something we really don't need

  • @FPVsean It is a great idea. Metro West was ID'd as a key transport project since 2001. Metro West will connect Tallaght, Clondalkin, Blanchardstown, Dublin Airport, Swords and the City Centre. Tallaght and Blanchardstown have a combined population of 200,000+ people. There is a need for effective public transport on this corridor and provide travel between the suburban areas without using M50 or radial public transport links (into the city and out).

  • Looks amazing and I would love it to become a reality. Alas it is just another dream in the pipeline now that it has been postponed :(

  • Great video, I have to congratulate you's at the RPA on using these videos as a means to better inform the us on proposed routes.

May I suggest that it would be helpful if you were to make such visualisations for Bx/D and possibly the other LUAS extensions (B2, F1 & F2).

Also, out of curiosity, what rendering software do you guys use for these animations?

  • The clip of the Metro in the blanchardstown shopping centre is enough to prove to me that it wont work, The road space in and out of the shopping centre is so narrow it can just about squeeze one lane of traffic each way! as it is they messed the whole thing up with the buses on network direct by building a new bus terminus which leads directly into a bottle neck of traffic and ur left sitting in 15-20 minutes of traffic at peak before the bus even leaves the shopping complex!!!

  • drame on as me da used to say drame on the irish aint goin anywhere they talk talk talk talk thats what there good at lad and he was right

  • @RPALuasMetro - would CIE have it as CIE were the ones that wanted to build Luas?

  • @FPVsean No I did understand. But you're entitled to your own opinion.

  • @bacabu30 No you just didn't understand what I meant, the amount of infrastructure this project needs is too great for what it serves a purpose for... IMO a new public transport network for the outskirts of Dublin, isnt necessary..
