Commissioners Herb Frady and Peter Pfeifer answer a question on the implementation of Defined Benefits at a recent forum. The question asked what the difference was between the two and what the cost to taxpayers would be when the Defined Benefit Plan was implemented. The Commission voted to change from a Defined Contribution Retirement Plan to a Defined Benefit Plan December 5th 2007.
Bob Fuhrman, challenging Frady for the seat, noted that Frady had voted for the plan in December prior to voting against the plan in April of this year. Frady challenged Fuhrman saying he did vote for it, but it was a vote to "study" the plan, not to "change" the plan. Frady then said that Pfeifer voted "for" the plan, although Pfeifer has steadfastly indicated he was against the switch.
In this video we include verbatim quotes, the motion and votes from the December 5th official Minutes and the audio tape along with the back and forth between Frady, Fuhrman and Pfeifer at the Forum.
The Forum was held in June at the Fayette County Public Library. It was hosted by the Fayette County Republican Party.
