is the release system reusable. can you set it back up normal again or once you pull the release cord is it no good anymore?

Do you mean if you can block the quick release itself to avoid some accidental quick releasing during combats?

The cable goes up and over (through) either shoulder strap, down the back. The cumberbun, shoulder straps and side straps have holes in them. There is a pin of sorts that is placed through the holes, and then the cable through it.

Pull the cable, it comes out of the pin that releases the straps. You just reset it up and go for it again.
