  • question why sometimes synthetic venetian plaster cracks or peels off? i cant figure this out yet i suspect is because you have to use a special primer or perhaps because its still too wet anybody??

  • @Giugal66 When its happened to me its because it is not fully dry before applying the next coat or burnishing. - Tony

  • excellent straight to the matter .but one question do you need to apply a wax??

  • @eltonhef Not to get the shine. They don't make waxes specifically for synthetic venetian plaster that I'm aware of.

  • thank you. this is the first video on venetian plaster i've seen that states in the title synthetic. glad to know at least someone out there knows what true venetian plaster is. its sad to know that this is the future and to realize that the art and knowledge of crafts accumulated for centuries upon centuries is going to be lost within another generation or two if we're lucky.

  • @rexious5 The good news for authentic Venetian plaster is that it looks better and is washable. Plus, the synthetic Venetian is very hard for a homeowner to do on their own and contractors prefer the authentic plaster. There's still hope.

  • @Giugal66 thanks tony how do you fix the peeling? i tried to apply more plaster but it keeps on peeling even after i let it dry for a day and then re apply more plaster!

  • @johnny76it

e solo uno straccio probabilmente umido , serve a levare la polvere fatta con la carta vetrata comunque non e' necessario carteggiare il muro !

  • In my opinion this is not a good way to do sinthetic venetian plaster, he waits for it to dry to burnish the best way is to burnish the plaster when is semi dry just drying it gets it shinyer and it's a lot of work to sand like he did i do it in 3 coats 1stto cover the wall 2nd withn a lil more texture and creating good random designs when dry sand it a lil in the 2nd coat with 320 and then applly a thin even third coat polishing right awayas soon the wall can take it nd it will be awesome!

  • @tonystafki soap wax is good or butchers wax or beeswax both thinned with mineral spirits I've done it

  • well, i did a lot venetian plasters and this is not a good film. this guy is showing american version of europeian history.....blahhh... will never work...

  • Thanks Tony. We are all aware that this is not authentic venetian plaster. We all also realize that the majority of people can't afford authentic venetian plaster. This looks nice but I would recommend your customer get rid of the ugly popcorn ceiling. Kind of ruins the total affect. Good job on the video.
