Made the mistake of programming this area-wide repeater frequency into our radio equipment recently. In particular, the radio in the truck that my impressionable teen-aged son rides in everyday I pick him up from his school bus stop. How do you explain to a young man who is studying for his General Class Amateur Radio Operator license this type of communication?

I think that you're getting worked up over nothing. I didn't hear anything that would constitute a violation of Part 97. Compared to what teens are watching on primetime television these days, this QSO is pretty mild stuff.

@WasatchIntercept This is a mild version of the type of stuff openly aired by these types. Point is.... folks are often offended by these FREE SPEAKERS-- as they've referred themselves. Well, that may be their case! I just know for a fact that others are sharing their dislikes towards this type of ON AIR BROADCASTING. As we no longer associate with person(s) we knew personally in this recording who continue to openly bash folks.

Hello, im new to Radio Comm, im thinking of getting some VHF radios for my UTV's , because i like to go camping a lot, far away from civilisation, and phone coverage isnt great in the country i live in... i was just wondering, two/trhee vhf radios dont absolutely need a license to operate do they? we can just... dial in a specific freq and talk!... or am i wrong?
