Americans View China As Top Economy

"With all the recent buzz about China's economic might and the country's exponential growth compared to that of the rest of the world, it may not be all that surprising that the majority of Americans believe China is the world's leading economy, according to a Gallup poll released Monday.

Though some economists believe the Asian power's economy will overtake that of the United States as soon as 2020, China's GDP of $5.879 trillion last year is still well behind the U.S. GDP of $14.66 trillion.

However, approximately 52% of Americans responded that China was the ""leading economic power in the world today"" versus 32% that believed the U.S. held the title. Seven percent of the 1,015 respondents surveyed said Japan was the leading economic power.

The Gallup findings reiterate the findings of a Pew Research Center poll released in January that found 47% of Americans believed China was the world's top economy.

As for which country those surveyed thought would be the leading economic power in 20 years, 47% of Americans said China, while 35% said the U.S. A small percentage said Japan, the European Union or India."

Cows are still sharing the roads with cars. 4. Short of skilled labours 5. 45% Indians are illiterate (92% Chinese read & write) 6. China has a larger pool of Scientists and Engineers 7. Indian IQ is 80 vs Chinese IQ 102 8. Chinese are able to get things done 4 times faster than Indian 9. Chinese are more hard working

Unless it somehow increased it's modern-day lifestyle, increased national production, etc. Although the U.S. is first as any other nation, China and other countries MIGHT be competing against America.
