Japanese Whalers to Target Endangered Humpbacks

Japanese whaling fleets set sail Nov. 18 to begin an international expedition around Antarctica, where they anticipate killing more than 1,000 whales over the next four months. The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) reports Japan is also expanding its annual whale hunt to include 50 endangered humpback whales. Japan claims its whaling expeditions are for scientific purposes. However, IFAW reports new findings from international legal experts indicate Japan's expanded whaling claim is false under international law. IFAW reports an international panel found Japan's fleets are in violation of the International Whaling Commission's (IWC) regulations and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).

The problem is everyone's problem, and that of all future generations. They say "It's ok, Minkes aren't endangered".

The japanese set out to kill Minke Whales, Humpback Whales, Fin Whales, Sei Whales, Byrdes Whales, and Beaked Whales every year... with a quota of over a thousand in total. Look up the subsistence of ALL of these.

Poaching is a crime. The whole world says so. These japanese are pretending they are scientists so they can collect huge amounts of meat to sell at high prices. People will not ever stop eating animals, but there are guidelines that should be followed: A) Don't kill animals whose subsistence is in question. B) Kill quickly and humanely. C) Replenish. D) Respect an animal's sanctuary! These japanese do none of the above.
