March 1959 TV special celebrating the life of entertainment executive Manie Sacks, 1902-58, starring Perry Como, Dinah Shore, Eddie Fisher, Jane Wyman, Frank Sinatra and others. In this segment: Vaughn Monroe speaks on behalf of RCA; closing credits.
RCA co-sponsored "THE EDDIE FISHER SHOW"/"THE GEORGE GOBEL SHOW" (alternating every week), with primary sponsor Liggett & Myers' Chesterfield, on Tuesday nights at the time. Singer Vaughn Monroe was RCA's spokesman in most of their commercials from the '50s through the mid-'60s. "THE GEORGE BURNS SHOW" followed this at 9pm(et)- it was a sequel to "THE BURNS AND ALLEN SHOW", minus Gracie...and that's why it lasted one season.
