ZSL have set up an amazing display of living corals at the Ultralounge in Selfridges' London store during Project Ocean. These were all previously seized by HM Customs as part of our work to improve the sustainability of the coral trade.

  • Corals are animals with plant cells called zooxanthellae inside their cells and it is these plant cells that provide them with most their energy through photosynthesis

  • I must see this one.....used to see/play w/ them in their natural habitat...they're beautiful especially the ones from the Philippines (near the Pacific) where I come from and in the Red Sea in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where I used to live as well. Snorkeling .....is the best way to see them in swallow waters like a rainbow...
