Never again. I've got a Ukrainian friend who witnessed "a flash" when he was little. An Azerbaijani friend told me that his dad was sent there by the Soviet authorities to help clean up the site. His dad still has some symptoms of radiation poisoning.

I wished that I could learn Russian as it is a very interesting language. But sadly in the United States of American, educators tries to limit the foreign language to Spanish and sometimes require students to take spanish courses than any other foreign language. If I could come to Russia or the Ukraine, I would teach them Sign langauge and hopefully I could learn to speak Russian and learn about their coulture. Plus teach them how to play the organ and piano.

early June our school trip to Moscow followed. luckily last-minute they could change our train routing via Belarus/ Minsk ;) I wonder how my thyroid will be doing one day; thank you Soviet communists.. also thanks for taking great (NOT!!) care of your own citizens when/ after this happened.. never ever lets hope.. lesson learned??

the Soviets did NOT tell the world what happened.. I guess I had my dose of radioactivity.. the first alarm arrived a few days later from Scandinavia.. they measured high radioactivity.. the whole north-western/ central/ eastern Europe got exposed to it, while the Soviet officials decided they would NOT warn the international community..
to be continued... it does not fit all in one hit ;)
Thanks for your comments.
Remember Chernobyl and consequences of the accident.
