@carlitopoitiers Check out ING Direct, US Bank, and Ally Bank they don't charge a monthly fee. Chase only charges you the fee if you don't have 10 debit card transactions OR deposit $1000/month. Check with a local credit union they usually don't charge fees.

It's just not this prepaid card, it's with a lot of them. Third if your credit card gets lost or stolen, banks will cancel it for you, and send you a free replacement. If you don't feel comfortable paying on the phone you can mail check or money order.

Hi! I don't agree with you. First, just because you didn't pay your bills on time and got a judgment on your checking account is no reason to hate on banks and credit card companies. Second, these prepaid companies charge all these small fees because that's how they make their money. Since they can't chard interest or late fees, they charge all these stupid fees: monthly activity fee, upload fee, ATM fee, card replacement fee, account closing fee.

i had a pre payed visa card they took every gd dime of my money & i couldn't use it no where even when i put my money on it lol that was a long time ago.

Ive been a UPside card user for a few years now and I really have to disagree. I lost my card once and they only charge $9.95 to replace it and they didnt charge me a fee for the call either. The customer service rep was nice and quick. I use the card for direct deposit from my job and always post it right on time. I love getting cash back points on all my purchases and because I always have more than $500 in my account, My monthly fee is only .99cents. A lot less than Walmart and Account now!

I dont know what he's talking about, I've been looking for several prepaid card options and Upside is by far the cheapest, other cards charge $4.95 or more each month and some even charge for each PIN payment!! I looked at opening a checking with Citi or Chase, it's at least $10/month. Yes there's a call fee but they refund it if you lose the card. Being angry and paranoid is one thing but as far as I'm concerned UPside is the best option I found out there!
