His name and recordings will grow in legend as the years pass. I wept when I found out that he died

Alexei playing this piece of Rachmaninov is like heaven opening up, pouring pure beauty down into the heart....
-
Why?
-
What a great pianist he was, such a control of the dynamics in this piece.

@BONHZEPPELIN i totally agree with you. you have to be born with certain brand of temperamen/emotiont/ slavic , unfulfillable longing to play Rachmaninoff in a way he does or a very few greats do. It cannot be taught.. either you have it or you don't. and Alexei certainly does have it in abundance of which sadly align with the tragic ending of his own life-- soaring highs and tragic fate.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!! I have listened to quite a few versions of this piece, and NO ONE has captured the true virtuosity, passion and power of this piece like Alexei, other than Rachmaninoff! I believe there is a heaven and Alexei Sultanov is there with Sergei, et. al.!!! You're an ANGEL carevnarakuna!
