  • stop all this crap about terrorism. This video is not about IRA or promotion. I was at the march and it was a completely fun filled, peaceful day out were we requested for the British Government to uphold the promises they made regarding our language. It's not a language of the Nationalists alone. Anyone who wants to speak Irish can, and should. There's no discrimination regarding the Irish Language, except in the paranoia of narrow minded fearmongers.

  • gaeilge abú.

  • The Irish were part of the British Empire because England had invaded and occupied Ireland! They had no choice! The same can be said of Wales, India, African countries...need I go on? Thank the English for the demise of the Irish, Welsh and Scottish languages. The English actually punished the people speaking their own language in their own country! So yes, the Irish were oppressed by the English, just as the Maoris were (and might I add, a large number of other races).

  • there's good and bad in all walks of life, good(Irish, maori, native american, scotish, welsh) Bad=English TÍR GAN TEANGA,TÍR GAN ANAM!!!!

  • We Maori have a very different view from that expressed by you. The Irish in Australia are another matter entirely.

  • What? The Irish were part of the British Empire when they amrauded across New Zealand - they are not inocent at all, neither are the Scots or the Welsh. I speak Irish a little and Scots Gaelic, so definitely not against it/

  • As a Maori woman I salute you and encourage you to use your language as often as is possible and make it real every day stuff. We Maori endured the same fate at the hands of the same people as the Irish and feel solidarity with you.
