  • Beautifully crafted scene. It does't get much better than this. Such a great shame we do not see this quality of filmmaking today. It's all CGI and paper thin characterisation.

  • this is pure magic, I can watch this over and over again. my favorite movie

  • simply EPIC, nothing more to add...

  • Real talk!

  • SHH SHH SHH SHH SHH SHIT SHUSH!!!!!

  • One of the best films of the last century, genius!

  • The people who watch the soaps go to the people who don't watch the soaps and say "you gotta watch this dross" so the film people make the change, ah? Then the people who watch the soaps sit around on their plastic sofas and talk and talk and talk and eat and eat and eat...but what has happened to the film people?

    THEY'RE BORED!

So please, don't talk to me about soap operas...

  • Rod Steiger's acting here brings tears to my eyes - perfectly timed, passionate and truthful. A masterclass from a true artist.

  • When you live with the most disgusting regime imaginable, a revolution always manages to make things even worse. Thats a very hard truth, a hard pill to swallow for us revolutionaries.

  • @Conchobhar I know and that's what I mean with misunderstood. While Leone clearly reflects his bad experiences of Italy's Facist regime, he's not glorifying revolutions and Socialism either. That's basically what the Title: Duck, You Sucker! or Giu la Testa means. "Keep your head down, the revolution is coming!"

Leone also said that the film itself had very little to do with the real Mexican Revolution. The revolution is a metaphor, the film is actually about friendship.

  • @Pssybart I don't think there's any comment on a specific ideology. If you'll watch all the scenes with the fascist military regime and what they're doing it's not siding with either the right or left and Leone has stated as much.
