Vangelis has used ARP2500 sequencer and a lot of expensive synths in this 1981 music. I've used some piano and background orchestra to improve this music.

Imagine Vangelis now with Reason

The music begins at 2:55.
before this i'm showing some instruments that i've used.

Watch closely to the mixer. The instruments amp volumes are not set to reach a good equalization and harmony. I'm just showing the power to produce 8bit sounds. This is a MIDI importing.

Comments are welcome.

  • Is there microtune in reason for play arabic music ?

  • arab music uses samples. yes there is microtune in nn-xt sampler.

  • i'm going to upload my arabic stuff soon

  • can someone tell me what reason is all about. can this be programmed into a synth?

  • a software for music creation. it uses midi and virtual rack synths. you can control it with your keyboard via midi and export your song as .wav

  • Good job my friend well done

But you are wrong to something

Vangelis did not used any Live Orchestra in backround..every string and brass sound you hear in Chariots is from CS80 and various synths..but

synths only..The acoustic instruments he used are Timpani, cymbals and percussion in general

and offcourse the huge Steinway piano he owns

Vangelis is a friend of mine and believe me this words are true

    Greetings

    Yiannis

  • We need someone to play this tune impressively on the harp and chimes or tubular bells.

  • @craftwerk88 yeah I want it too

  • nice job, could you share the reason-file?

  • Hey VERY good just a bit too much sustain or reverb though but very good as I say, well recorded. I have Sonar, I record real time from playing keys on keyboard. How do you know what note goes where on the screen in order to get it playing the accurate tune? It's easyer the way I do it on the keyboard real time I've found. Cheers from Rich

  • Upload the Projct file PLEASE ! I'd like to use it to play 'live' sort of like a kareoke-tape ..

  • I have made a patch for the CS-80 sound with thor it's very close to the original tone, but not close enough than the real thing, in fact i try to replicate some juicy tone of oberheim.

you do a realy good job with the subtractor to replicate the tonal quality of this song.

  • you should upload your project file, would be great!

Reply to me if you do [=

  • pssst....vangelis could have been watching this himself

  • that was nice, reason is a great program.
