  • yep thats me! the fly reel works pretty good and sturdy! even after i went at it with a dremel tool !

  • @FishingItUp11 do you cast in the usual "fly" manner then? and you didnt remove the inner eye guides to give a bit more line clearance etc? hows about a video showing us the modification and casting?

  • @FishingNYC cool! would be nice to see a video of that rig in action properly!

  • @kirisilvermane I jjust got an update from a guy that rigged the fly combo with 0000 float line from Sage & he says he can cast it 30'.

  • @kirisilvermane

well, that's something good to know about, it can really help me in the future

  • @kirbylee96 i have used it with braid and with standard mono line and it works very well with both. of course what you can do is just buy a cheap full size fly reel and then cut the foot down to fit the pen rod! one of the the other guys doing videos with a pen rod has done that and it seems to work very well!

  • @kirisilvermane

yeap, some of the many people that had use the fly fishing reel had said that too

  • @kirbylee96 you will struggle to use that reel with fly line, but as you can see it makes a superb little reel for course fishing!

  • YES, finally, the fly fishing reel in action

  • @FishingNYC LOL no bass over here buddy! just big carp! that lake doesnt have any monsters in it though :( maybe next video!!
