Dr. Mercola, I tried adding 1 Raw egg to my shakes and I didn't care for it much, I didn't like the texture (slimy) and I thought it kinded of added a little of a bloody taste but it wasnt bad, I can tolerate it. but I usually just add a little extra protein powder. Since the eggs only have about 7 grams of protein each, am I missing much by not adding them?? If you can give me good reason I will do it. By the way, I bought Mercola pure power protein mix, it's amazing, love the Chia seed.

@realblackhart Avoid the wheat, and do NOT cook the eggs. (Especially do NOT scramble them.) You're practically defeating the entire purpose of eating them to begin with by destroying the nutritional value within the eggs that benefit your health. Notice how Dr. Mercola goes light on the blending of his shake. (With good reason.) You do not want to destroy your eggs!

@marinezh It's just protein -- how will 4 eggs hurt you? Unless you have kidney disease high protein is fine, and it won't raise your cholesterol either. Adkins diet is very healthy if you can stick with it.

@lucbelico Don't hear what you wanna hear, RAW and organic milk is much different than the pasturized and hormone filled garbage you buy at the store.

Its good to see him drinking milk. i hate when some people say that milk is not healthy. Thats bullshit.

Yup, I like getting 3 day's worth of cholesterol in one good swoop!

@Watchdawg salmonella is the product of factory farms. Get organic, free range, farm fresh eggs instead.

Isn't there a risk of getting salmonella when consuming raw eggs?

Gluten is not a healthy breakfast, and that includes whole grains that have Wheat/gluten. The rest of your breakfast sounds good though.

i eat 1 egg a day for my breakfast, but 4 - is it not going to be hard on my body?
Dr. Mercola I am confused about why your whey protein has maltodextrin in it and in your video entitled "choosing the best whey protein" you told us to avoid maltodextrin, so which is it? Thanks.

@vrwhitlockable The maltodextrin content is naturally occurring digestive resistant maltodextrin, which Is a non-digestible fiber. This is just another name for a water soluble fiber (long chain saccarides) that naturally occur in maize and other plants. That fiber has shown to help lower blood sugar and blood lipids.

@vrwhitlockable And it also works as a pre-biotic food to support health gut flora. has MSG. This is completely different than the typical NON digestive resistant maltodextrin that is use in many other products that will raise your insulin level and also

Dr. Mercola, right now I am on a diet which includes avoiding dairy products because of my unhealthy inflammation. Do you think whey might be ok, though it is made from milk? And/or do you have a recomendation for an alternative protein drink (I use them for breakfast). Thanks.

@englandr21 Most people who have dairy allergies have problems with lactose and casein not whey protein
