This ancient Syriac hymn is in honor of and celebrates the Virgin Mary, sometimes (wrongly translated) called "Mother of God", (Gre. Theotokos, Syr. Yuldath Aloho), which basically can be translated into "Birth giver of God."

The hymn is translated in the video, and if many of the subscribers wish to have the transcription of the hymn, it will come up. In the beginning of the video you see bible verses where the angel Gabriel and Elisabeth celebrates Mary.

In the hymn, which is a modern version much inspired by western music, you will meet Virgin Mary and her questions. You will see the celebration of her in the very strong words, at one point claiming that through Mary, daughter of David, humanity gets its existence.

The Virgin Mary is highly celebrated in the oriental-orthodox churches, and the true believer asks for her prayers daily.

May her prayers always be with us.

(The picture is from the Constantinople church of Hagia Sophia, later turned by force into a Mosque, and today a museum in Istanbul, Turkey)

(The song is from Abdo Remmo Inci's album "Hallelujah".)
