reply to stark184- the real reason that a hard drive shouldn't be opened is because they are precision devices, they're not vacuum sealed but they ARE clean as a whistle inside unless opened anywhere but a clean room (I'm talking about a laboratory clean room, not a room that you just cleaned:) because there's no room for error (no pun intended) when you're talking about microscopic magnetic signatures read by a head just a hair above the surface. Same reason you shouldn't touch recording tape.
Thats pretty awsome! I always wondered where the clicky "thinking" sound came from....lol. Yeah, I also just accidentally wiped my hard drives memory today trying to set up boot camp on my mac....FAIL!!!
