Today we are going to install part number 13535 from Curt - this is a 2-inch receiver hitch - and we are going to install this on a 2004 Honda CR-V. First I will show you where the hitch mounts up on the vehicle. It is going to mount up on this frame member here, it is going to mount to the tow hook, and it is also going to mount on the other side of the frame member above the exhaust. To begin our install, what we have to do is lower the exhaust, and we are going to have to take down the rubber hangers here and here. And we will just gently lower it down. That should give us enough room for working room.

Next thing we are going to do is go ahead and start installing our hardware into the frame. What we are going to do is put our fish wire through this hole here and out this larger access hole here, put our hardware in, and then pull it back through. In this hole it is going to be a little bit different. We push in all the hardware inside and then pulling it straight back out the same hole. That is all we need to do. And we do the same thing on the passengers side. All right, at this point we can go ahead and start hanging the hitch on the bolts we installed. It is a good idea to have extra hands because it is kind of an awkward piece to work with. All right, at this point we can go ahead and start snugging down the bolts. Once you have all the bolts snugged down, go ahead and tighten them down to their torque specified in the instructions. We have got our hitch installed. Now the last thing we need to do is go ahead and reattach our rubber exhaust hangers. One quick check to make sure the exhaust is not hitting anything. That finishes your install of part number 13535 from Curt. etrailer.com
