Fantastic. I'd love to see a documentary of the production of these robots, all the way from conception through production. The level of expertise in every vocation contributing to their creation appears astounding.

Mark Roberts Motion Control worked with AFP to custom make remote robotic pan, tilt, zoom and roll heads (changing from landscape to portrait). These are now installed in 15 different positions in the Olympic venues ready for the start of the games. This is the first time this technology has been used to such an extent.

Yeah, just looked at the vid again and saw that green light flashing like crazy, which leaves me with a question of why they used a slow CF card(couldn't of been a XQD right?). I like both cameras so this is just a preference thing but I think I like the 1DX better:-) Both are great cameras indeed!

Becaus the D4 is simply the better choice ;-)

I use the D4 in seriafire mode without any hickups, is a matter of the card media...

I built the 15 electronic control units for AFP Robotics for the London Olympics 2012 project while working at MRMOCO as a contract prototype wireman.I'm the guy you see sat at a bench wiring a unit with headphones on.I'm proud of my involvement, and only wish it could have continued.

A setup like that inside a climate controlled dome or turret on top of a vehicle would be neat for storm chasing photography!

I wonder why they chose D4 instead of the 1DX :(

Obviously you can hear the D4 having hick ups during continuous burst towards the end.
