It was NEVER "revelaed" that Kenshin's speed was the same as Soujiro, so please don't make up things.

Kenshin said (VERY clear) that Soujiro's speed surpassed even that of the Hiten Mitsurugi style.

The only reasons he was able to defeat him was because:

1-The Amakakeru's SWINGING speed goes even beyond the Hiten Mitsurugi.

2-Soujiro was deeply confused (as his whole way of living was being questioned) and his skills were not at 100% anymore.

so the fact that kenshin had already had hard fights and was already getting somewhat tired (which was one of the objectives of him having to fight more people) doesn't count?

they were both having difficulties, besides:

1 - kenshin did't actually know his opponent, while kenshin was well known and his style could be studied

2 - kenshin was smewhat bruised and had his body tired, which account into more mental stress

so, kenshin didn't have advantages from the start... none
