Lookin for gold near Lithgow, NSW, Australia - Xmas TIme.
Thunderstorms, crevicing and four seasons in a day. Gold found here is nuggety and rough unlike Turon gold (more weathered and worn) .

Music by: the Kan-Tu Blues Band (With Friends) available open source (at) archive (dot) org.

  • That exact section of soil you were digging (the divet) was started by myself about 6 years ago and we've been panning there on an off since then. That big slab of "cement" that can be seen in the video just before you pan (next to the trail) is the remants of the volcanic mudflow the old miners were lifting in the 1800s to get to the gold underneath. Great video. Not quite in Lithgow. Keep it a secret!

  • @nerodesign000 ... i'll never tell.. ;) cheers mate

  • am i nuts or are your riffles backwards?

  • @desertdreg nah they're the right way mate - they face this way / gold flows over the top and lands in the low pressure section on the other side if they were this way \ it would clog up and be useless... it might be an illusion??

  • where abouts near lithgow? im from bathurst.you should get a yabbey pump for that little hole suck into the pan and let the water back into the hole again...have fun!

  • @MrCoolcool666 - Good tip mate... Ive got a yabby pump too !

  • @number40Fan

Wonder how much gold floated over those bunches in front of the riffles?

  • @number40Fan

The riffles are backwards! Look at them. The slope is facing the water flow.. which is why the material is bunching up in his sluice. Strange.

  • @desertdreg

If you pause it at 2:42 they do look backwards.

  • yeah cool man, prolly take until the end of time to get some grammage but cool...

  • So how many ounces was that day's worth of golding?

  • smart
