Well as a Holden man I used to HATE Dicky!! This footage and a lot of the comments I must say....yeah I agree...what a legend! Credit where credit is due, he'd be the closest thing anyone had seen to Brocky but for misfortune and...fate.
What a Tru-Blu Aussie. I hope I've matured a bit when I can say...
Dicky makes me proud to be a Queenslander and an Aussie. Such stoicism and downright nonchalance under pressure.

I was at this race and I was only a kid at the time. It was when they had a regular ATCC round at Bathurst and also had the 1000 later in the year, I was at Hell corner and remember hearing everyone cheering at the chase. I saw a cloud of dust and didn't know what happened until DJ drove past later with a broken wing. As a Holden man, I was very happy too see this :)
