Why would mothers give up their CHRISTIAN sons to be FORCEFULLY converted to islam and thereby sending them to hell? @AegeanKing Without consent it was strictly forbidden by LAW to take youth as Devşirme, where they were taken care of and got an excellent education, still maintaining the contact to their families. However, enemies who were taken as prisoners of wars were excluded especially in the early beginning, yet it can be seen as a second given chance. But if you want to complain about medieval wars you must include everyone else, too. How many times you want to make up such pathetic stories
