I think the main problem was that he talked too fast. Irons drew out every word, and put emotion into it. Horan just kind of said it, and way too fast. The words were even different from the movie, so I think that too is a problem. Plus the music, didn't fit at all.

When you think about it, Jeremy Irons has a VERY unique voice. I mean really, his voice is synonymous with Scar. The inflections and "dips" and overall suaveness of his voice can't be easy to master.

I think his acting let him down more than anything. He totally failed to capture the feel of Scar. Honestly, if they'd gotten someone with a totally different sounding voice to Jeremy Irons, but who could capture Scar successfully in the tone and phrasing, I think it'd have worked better. :\

JAMES HORAN DID A FINE JOB. there's a slight difference when you put the two side-by-side, definitely, but he pulls off a fine evil voice. He did a great job, in my opinion. It's not always possible to sound EXACTLY like another voice actor.

I don't think the voice was too bad, obviously not as good as Jeremy Irons... but the main problem is the music... It just doesn't fit the scene...

This makes me wonder why they couldn't get Jim Cummings back for the game. I mean, he's cheaper than Jeremy Irons, and can do pretty much the same thing. Was Horan that much cheaper?

Stop blaming the awesome Jim Cummings. James Horan is the one to blame. Jim Cummings did voice Scar at two points, in The Lion King 2 he played Scar in Simba's dream sequence, then he sang the last part of "Be Prepared" in the first movie. Right after "YOU WON'T GET A SNIFF WITHOUT ME!" you can hear a slight voice change. That's Jim Cummings because Jeremy Irons blew his vocal chords while singing.
It's too bad that you can't edit the video without everything here gets lost.

I think he did a good job as the character. He is nowhere near Jeremy Irons' performance as Scar but it doesn't mean it's bad. It's just not a good impression of the original voice.
